Best Snowmobile Trails in Manitoba
Manitoba is home to over 12,000 kilometers of snowmobile trails that offer endless opportunities for adventure. If you're looking to explore new terrain, True North Parts has compiled some of our favorite snowmobile trails to inspire you.
We highly recommend joining a snowmobile club like Snoman Incorporated, which offers a community of riders and ideas on where to go. By joining a club, you can connect with other riders, get insider tips and tricks, and even make lifelong friends. You'll also need a designated Snopass from Snoman to travel on the trails.
Understanding Manitoba’s Snowmobile Trail System
Manitoba's snowmobile trail system is organized by numbers, similar to a highway system. Odd-numbered trails run east to west, while even-numbered trails run north to south. Understanding this system can make it easier to navigate your options.
Near Gimli
Gimli is surrounded by incredible trails, including trail numbers 17 and 46, which take you along and across Lake Winnipeg. You can enjoy the crisp winter air in New Iceland and stop by one of the many cafes or art galleries in the area. You can also visit the Icelandic Heritage Museum and see the Book of Life.
Near Selkirk
Trail 46 takes you south to Selkirk, where you can follow trails 280 or 50. Selkirk is a former inland port that still sees a lot of boat traffic and is home to the Marine Museum. During the winter, you can check out the Red River and the ice fishing shacks that line its banks. Trail 46 runs alongside the Red River Floodway, offering stunning views of the waterway.
Near Winnipeg
Continuing south on trail 46 will take you to Winnipeg, where the trail branches off into trails 710 and 250. Winnipeg is a major city with plenty of museums, including the famous Canadian Museum of Human Rights. You can also catch a game of one of the many sports teams hosted in the city or indulge in some delicious cuisine.
Lake Manitoba
To the west of Gimli is Lake Manitoba, which offers a variety of trails along its shore. Trail 361 or 26 is a great place to start, and you can continue along trails 22, 110, and 13 for a scenic ride through charming towns. Be sure to stop for meals and to meet new people along the way.
